The CEO & Founder of The/Studio, Joseph Heller, lived in China for over 10 years while helping fashion brands and large retailers with their manufacturing needs. He realized that while the world was changing, manufacturing was stuck in a 19th-century mindset that didn’t mesh with reality: mass audiences were splitting into smaller high-value niche markets, customers expected products right away, trends changed quickly and ethical sourcing had become an essential. The/Studio was born out of the desire to meet these needs and give apparel its 2.0 moment.
